pretty things deserve a pretty home

I've always believed pretty things deserve a pretty home and it's been a little over a year and half since my partner and I moved into our first place.  After purchasing all of the very-sensible-but-not-that-exciting big ticket items for our home sweet home, I have finally started to spend a little bit of time and effort decorating the room where I keep all my pretty things ... 

I like to keep all my makeup, jewelry, handbags and any other accessories all in the one place as it really helps me to get ready.

How do you store your jewelry? ... 

A glass bowl seems very appropriate for arm candy!

When it comes to storing makeup, for me, if it's out of sight, it's out of mind.  So I like to have all of my makeup on display otherwise I will forget about items and never use them.  I keep makeup brushes, mascaras, lip/eye pencils and lipglosses in acrylic jars on the dresser and store blushes and lipsticks in acrylic containers in the dresser drawer.  

The latest addition to my room ... tiffany blue + pastel pink + hearts = it truely was love at first sight.

Most of the furniture; the dresser, mirror, pastel blue stool and glass bowls are all from IKEA ~ I love IKEA, it's like a disney land for adults.  I don't really have a 'theme' for my room but no matter how I rearrange it or redecorate it, the room always seems to remains pretty colourful and girlie. 

Would love to know, do you have a dedicated room or corner of your house where you keep all your pretty things?  Do you keep all your makeup, bags and jewelry all in one place?  Do you have a 'theme' for your room/area and where do you find inspiration for decorating ideas?
